Calgary, Alberta – September 16, 2026 – Solasta Counselling has been named a finalist for the Air Canada Community Champion Award at the 2026 Calgary Chamber Small Business Awards. The practice is also formally launching Under the Same Sun: Solasta’s Giving Pledge, a public commitment to provide 2,030 hours of free counselling to Calgary residents by 2030.
The Calgary Chamber Small Business Awards Gala will take place on October 23, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Calgary. Solasta was selected as a finalist alongside Devon & Lang and Insight Counselling and Therapy Centre.
Under the Same Sun: Solasta’s Giving Pledge
Under the Same Sun is Solasta’s formal commitment to making counselling and psychological services accessible regardless of financial circumstance. The name reflects the practice’s belief that everyone in a community shares the same sky, and that access to mental health support should not be determined solely by what someone can afford.
Since opening in 2017, Solasta has delivered more than 1,000 hours of free counselling to Calgary residents. The formalisation of the pledge makes that commitment public, measurable, and ongoing through 2030.
Key milestones to date include:
- More than 750 free counselling sessions delivered through Solasta’s supervised student clinician program, in which master’s-level counselling students provide sessions under close psychologist supervision at no cost to clients.
- More than 320 hours of pro-bono psychological services, including full psychological assessments provided at no cost when financial barriers would otherwise have prevented access.

Supporting Women and Girls in Calgary Sport
Solasta’s community investment extends beyond clinical services. In 2025, the practice became a shirt sponsor of Calgary Blizzard FC’s women’s team, which won the League1 Alberta Women’s Championship and represented Alberta at the League1 Canada Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship. In 2026, Solasta became a Silver sponsor of Team Melville, a competitive U18 women’s curling team based at NorthHill Curling Club in Calgary.
