World Micro Advances Toward CMMC Level 2 Certification, Strengthening Defense Supply Chain Security
PR Newswire
ROSWELL, Ga., Sept. 15, 2026
ROSWELL, Ga., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — World Micro remains firmly committed to achieving Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 certification through an authorized CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) and continues to pursue that certification as quickly as the Department of War (DOW) assessment process permits.
Following the DOW’s temporary pause affecting C3PAO-certified CMMC assessments, World Micro has confirmed that it may continue to support and process orders for its DOW customers under its existing CMMC Level 2 Self-Assessment status, where permitted by applicable contract and program requirements.
During this period, World Micro will continue to work with qualified suppliers that have likewise achieved the required CMMC Level 2 Self-Assessment status when supporting work subject to these requirements. This enables World Micro and its supply-chain partners to continue serving defense customers while maintaining the cybersecurity controls required for the protection of sensitive defense information.
“Protecting our customers’ information and the integrity of the defense supply chain is a responsibility we take very seriously,” said Daniel Ellsworth, President & CEO at World Micro. “While we await the opportunity to complete our C3PAO assessment, our focus remains the same: maintaining strong cybersecurity practices and providing our defense customers with a secure, reliable supply chain they can count on.”
The temporary pause in the C3PAO assessment process does not change World Micro’s cybersecurity priorities. World Micro continues to place the highest importance on defense supply-chain security and the confidentiality and protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) entrusted to the company and its suppliers.
World Micro’s cybersecurity program and practices will continue to be maintained with the objective of meeting applicable CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171 requirements. World Micro will also continue its preparations for a C3PAO assessment so that formal certification can proceed as soon as the DOW assessment process allows.
World Micro appreciates the continued cooperation of its customers and suppliers as the DOW implements the CMMC program. We remain committed to supporting the defense industrial base with a secure, reliable, and compliant supply chain.
Defense customers and suppliers seeking a CMMC-aligned distribution partner are encouraged to contact World Micro to discuss program requirements, supply-chain support, and sourcing needs.
