SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Young Roddo has shot the first official music video filmed entirely inside Roblox, staging the video for his single “Robux” live with fans inside Brookhaven, the platform’s most-visited experience with 86B lifetime visits. The video is live today on Young Roddo’s YouTube channel.
“This is a dream come true for me; I am so proud of myself for following my dream and working with amazing people who are helping me share my music with everyone,” said Young Roddo.
“We’re always looking for new and unique ways to engage fans, and working with the biggest experience in Roblox history was a natural fit. Roddo plays Brookhaven almost every day. So do millions of people (and fans) from all over the world – what better set for an official ‘Robux’ music video?,” said Nima Etminan, COO, EMPIRE.
The shoot marks a new kind of promotional venue for artists: rather than shooting on a soundstage or location and posting the result to social platforms, Young Roddo and his team built the video’s narrative directly into Brookhaven‘s in-game world, with Roblox users invited to take part in and appear in the video in real time.
Jessica Meehan, Head of Music Partnerships at Roblox, stated “Every day, Roblox content generates 2.9 billion views across TikTok and YouTube. Brookhaven was a natural stage for the first official music video shot on the platform, and community member Young Roddo was the perfect artist to bring it to life.”
Young Roddo, 9, is a Chicago-born hip-hop and R&B artist who partnered with independent powerhouse label, EMPIRE, and broke out in 2026 with “No Bad Grades,” a track aimed at a family-friendly, school-age audience. “Robux” continues that theme, built around the lyric hook “You got me spendin’ Robux / Girl, you got me spendin’ Robux on you,” and has been gaining traction on TikTok prior to the video’s release and the artists’ debut album drop last Friday.
“Brookhaven is a place where everyone can belong, connect and have fun together, and this collaboration brought that spirit to life in a unique way. We loved partnering with EMPIRE and Roblox to bring Young Roddo’s vision into Brookhaven, from performing alongside Skye and Brian to house parties with our passionate community. We hope this inspires more artists to see Brookhaven as a place to bring their biggest ideas to life,” said Katelynn Heil, Head of Franchise, Voldex.
