The festival-favorite web series from Film Underdogs Collective follows a struggling actor recruited by the CIA — now streaming in full.
NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — NEW YORK, NY (August 15, 2026) — Film Underdogs Collective today announced that its acclaimed original series NOC: Non-Official Cover has launched exclusively on YouTube, bringing the award-winning web series to a global audience for the first time. The launch follows a substantial festival résumé, including a Los Angeles Film Awards win for Best Web/TV Pilot, a Global Shorts Award of Excellence, and official selections at festivals including the Tokyo International Short Film Festival, Manhattan Film Festival, and the Big Apple Film Festival, among many others.
Created by Alex Swift, Ian Voglesong, and Joel Brady, NOC follows Richie Jones (Brady), a struggling Brooklyn actor and longtime waiter whose need to be liked has earned him the trust of one of the neighborhood’s biggest players. When Richie is offered the acting break he’s always dreamed of, he quickly learns the opportunity isn’t what it seems. The biggest role of his life isn’t on screen. It’s the one he’s now living. The roles the Agency feeds him are far from glamorous, and the danger is very real.
Blending comedy, drama, and espionage, NOC draws on real-world intelligence tradecraft and classic spy fiction while satirizing the life of the working actor. Swift’s intelligence background, Voglesong’s grounded direction, and Brady’s firsthand experience as an actor combine to create a character-driven spy comedy about ambition, identity, and what we’re willing to sacrifice for the chance to finally be seen.
“NOC started with a simple idea: what if being an unknown actor made you the perfect spy?” said creators Joel Brady and Ian Voglesong. “Drawing on Alex Swift’s intelligence background, we found the irony at the heart of Richie’s story: he’ll do anything to finally be seen, only to make a Faustian bargain with people who need him to remain invisible. After the response to the pilot on the festival circuit, we’re excited to finally share NOC with audiences on YouTube.”
NOC stars Joel Brady, whose television and film credits include Boardwalk Empire, Men in Black III, and The Judge, in the lead role of Richie Jones. Brady also will appear in the upcoming film Hershey, releasing in theaters nationwide this Thanksgiving. Brady is managed by Michele Peacock at Bohemia Group.

That’s the decision facing Richie Jones, a bumbling waiter whose goofy charm has earned him the trust of one of the biggest organized criminals in Brooklyn. Perfect for fans of Barry, Burn After Reading, and Patriot, NOC blends grounded espionage, sharp character comedy, and the painfully funny realities of chasing an acting career.
