Intermountain Health named Nonprofit of the Year in Nevada for its deep investment in the health, economic vitality, and long-term success of Southern Nevada.
LAS VEGAS, NV (PRUnderground) August 17th, 2026
Intermountain Health was named Nonprofit of the Year in Nevada by the Urban Chamber of Commerce, an honor recognizing the health system’s deep investment in the health, economic vitality, and long-term success of Southern Nevada.
The award was presented during the Chamber’s annual Green Tie Awards, its premier celebration honoring businesses, nonprofit organizations, educators, advocates, and community leaders whose leadership and service have made a significant impact on the region.
The recognition highlights a distinction that sits at the heart of how Intermountain operates. As a nonprofit health system, Intermountain reinvests 100% of its operating income back into the communities it serves through improved facilities, technology, expanded services, and programs that address the community’s needs.
“This recognition means so much because it comes from the community itself,” said Mitch Cloward, regional president for Intermountain Health. “The Urban Chamber understands that healthy communities and thriving businesses go hand in hand. As a nonprofit, our success isn’t measured by profits, it’s measured by whether our neighbors are healthier, our workforce is stronger, and our community has better access to care. We’re honored to be part of that work in Southern Nevada.”
As a nonprofit, Intermountain invests in the care its communities need most. Across Southern Nevada, that includes hospitals, clinics, community health programs, and partnerships that expand access to care and address the social drivers of health – from expanding access to nutritious food for more than 13,400 Southern Nevadans in 2025 to investing in housing stability and economic opportunity.
“On behalf of the Urban Chamber of Commerce, I am proud to recognize Intermountain Health as our Nonprofit of the Year,” said Chris Shelton, president and CEO of the Urban Chamber of Commerce. “Their commitment extends beyond healthcare; it reflects a genuine investment in the health, economic vitality, and success of our community. This is what meaningful partnership looks like, and together, we achieve more.”
