CAMBRIDGE, MA, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — LOSD and ESN Make History as 1,572 Authors Secure Guinness World Records Title
Landmark achievement in Chennai followed by international recognition for LOSD co-authors at the Harvard Science Center
A remarkable gathering of 1,572 authors has secured a Guinness World Records title for the “Most Authors Signing Their Own Book Simultaneously”, in an ambitious international collaboration co-organised by the London Organisation of Skills Development (LOSD), United Kingdom, and ESN, India.
The record-breaking event took place on 26 July 2026 at Madha Engineering College in Kunrathur, Chennai, bringing together authors, academics, educators, researchers and professionals united by a shared belief in the enduring value of the written word.
Under the leadership of LOSD Founder and Chief Executive Prof. Dr. Parin Somani, the initiative sought to achieve far more than a numerical record. At its heart was a wider social mission: encouraging people to write, publish and preserve their knowledge for future generations.
The achievement surpassed the previous record of 1,502 authors, set at the Sharjah International Book Fair in the United Arab Emirates in 2019.
For each participant, the moment involved signing a copy of their own published work at the same time. Collectively, however, it became a powerful demonstration of what can be achieved when education, creativity and international collaboration converge.
The official Guinness World Records listing confirms that the title was achieved jointly by ESN and the London Organisation of Skills Development, with 1,572 authors successfully completing the record attempt.
Speaking about the achievement, Prof. Dr. Parin Somani said:
“This record represents far more than 1,572 signatures. Every book carries an individual journey, a body of knowledge and a message that can continue to influence lives for generations. Through this initiative, we wanted to inspire people everywhere to recognise that their experiences, research and ideas deserve to be documented and shared.”
From Chennai to Cambridge
The celebration continued internationally on 14 and 15 August 2026, when participating co-authors from LOSD publications were formally recognised during the LOSD Skills Live Show held at the Harvard University Science Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Certificates were presented to LOSD co-authors in recognition of their contribution to the organisation’s publishing initiatives and the wider culture of global knowledge-sharing championed through the Guinness World Records achievement.
The Cambridge presentation gave the co-authors an opportunity to celebrate their literary contribution before an international audience of academics, entrepreneurs, speakers, innovators and changemakers.
The ceremony also created a symbolic connection between two globally significant moments: the record-breaking gathering of authors in Chennai and the recognition of international co-authors at one of the world’s most recognised centres of learning.
LOSD’s involvement reflects the organisation’s growing international work across skills development, education, publishing, leadership, innovation and social impact. Through its books, conferences, research activities and global platforms, the organisation continues to create opportunities for individuals to transform their knowledge and lived experiences into meaningful contributions.
The Guinness World Records achievement stands as a reminder that authorship is not solely about publishing a book. It is about preserving ideas, advancing knowledge and leaving something of lasting value behind.
From Chennai to Cambridge, the message was unmistakable: when people are given a platform to share their knowledge, individual stories can become part of a global legacy.
