Hapco Breaks Ground on New Oklahoma City Manufacturing Facility

270,000-Square-Foot Facility Will Expand U.S. Production of Aluminum Lighting Poles

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Hapco broke ground August 4 on a new 270,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Oklahoma City, marking a significant expansion of the company’s U.S. manufacturing footprint and reinforcing its long-term commitment to American manufacturing.

The new facility will expand production capacity for aluminum lighting poles serving commercial, industrial, transportation, municipal, utility, and OEM markets throughout North America. The project is expected to create more than 80 new jobs and strengthen Hapco’s ability to support growing customer demand across the Central and Western United States.

Expanding Hapco’s U.S. Manufacturing Network
The Oklahoma City facility will complement Hapco’s headquarters and flagship manufacturing operations in Abingdon, Virginia, increasing domestic production capacity while enhancing logistics efficiency, operational flexibility, and customer service.

The new facility is being developed at OKC 577 Commerce Park in Oklahoma City. The location provides Hapco with strategic access to major transportation networks and customer markets across the Central and Western United States.

Celebrating the Start of Construction
Hapco leaders were joined at the August 4 groundbreaking by Oklahoma state and local officials, economic development partners, customers, construction partners, and members of the business community.

Representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, The Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance, OKC 577 Commerce Park, Pascal Aughtry & Associates, Van Hoose Construction, Cooper Project Advisors, and SESCO Lighting joined Hapco leadership for the ceremony.

The groundbreaking marked both the beginning of construction in Oklahoma City and the next chapter in Hapco’s 75-year manufacturing history.

Investing for the Future
The Oklahoma City facility will allow Hapco to support continued growth in the lighting and infrastructure markets while increasing the company’s flexibility to respond to evolving customer needs and market requirements.
Construction is underway, with operations expected to begin in late 2027.
